We would like to make you aware of an ongoing security threat affecting several businesses in our sector. We have been informed that a malicious third party has been impersonating our organisation and falsely claiming to provide building control services to extract money.
Please be vigilant and exercise extreme caution with any email that is not from stromabc.com or that requests changes to payment information. As a reminder, we will never request bank details for changes via email, and any such communication should be treated as suspicious.
If you receive any message of this nature or that you feel may be suspicious, do not process the request. Instead, contact your usual company representative using known, trusted contact details or email compliance@stromabc.com. Do not use phone numbers or links contained within the suspicious message.
We also encourage all customers to:
- Verify any unusual request through established channels.
- Review email headers and sender address carefully.
- Report any suspicious communication to your IT/security team immediately.
Your security is extremely important to us, and we are actively working with affected parties to mitigate the threat.
If you have any concerns or would like assistance validating any communications, please reach out to us.
Best regards,
Stroma Building Control
